  1. That first picture looks like the rail bridge over Parramatta Road at Strathfield. The Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet (the first one in Australia, opened 27th April 1968) on Woodville Road at Guildford (along with a Pizza Hut and maybe a McDonald's as well), between the school and the Monster Furniture Clearance Depot (Formerly John Coote's Furniture)is now long gone. There is now an Oporto, 7Eleven, The Cheesecake Shop and Helta Kebabs at this location.

  3. I was born in 1967, 1st lived in Sefton for 1st 19 months, moved to Merrylands Jan. 1969 and lived there till I purchased my own unit in Parramatta in Nov. 2011, the family home is still in Merrylands, where we have been now 51 years at Jan. 2020. I too am into railways (prototype and model). Mostly Australian, but some American (started of with the Tyco Silver Streak Set which I got for Christmas 1978), Some German (Fleischmann) and British Tin Plate carriages I came across in one of the antique stores in the Blue Mountains, before that I had the Toltoys Trains and Lego Train Set #171.
